Hello Youth Ministry Parents and Teens!
This last year has brought many challenges. The biggest, of course, has been Covid. Despite this, we have had tremendous growth in our youth groups. We have established a youth Council which now has 10 high school members. I have 31 high schoolers on the roster. We have already had several fund raisers which have been very successful. Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and support. With the money we raise, we plan to send 10-15 high school and young adults to World Youth Day in August 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. World Youth Day is not just a day, but a week long event, where youth from all over the world come together to share and worship along with Pope Francis.
High School Group will begin September 19, 2021 after the Youth Mass (approximately 7:00 p.m.) and end at 8:30 p.m. We will be in the portables at Christ the Teacher.
Our Youth will be the Keepers of the Faith. They will be the ones who will be involved and serving long after we are gone. They are the future of the Church. There are three things that families can do to help build faith in their sons and daughters. First, pray. Pray as a family and pray for our kids. Let them know you are praying for them. Second, read the bible. Read the bible together. Let our children see that you read the bible. Third, and most important, go to Mass. Go to Mass as a family, go to Mass individually whenever possible. Our children need to attend and go to Mass with you.
On September 12, 2021 after Youth Mass, you are invited to a meet and greet in the Gathering Hall for a dessert social. Your Youth Council members will be there. Please bring your middle schoolers and high schoolers to this event so we can talk about joining youth group. I will have registration forms with me at this event, at youth mass, and at every youth group. Hope to see you soon!
God Bless,
